I am back with Day 2 -exploring Maine (back in May) and here is Lighthouse No. 1, the Portland Breakwater Light or the "Bug Light". I'll go with the second name because it fits better in my opinion. This 33-foot tall light is considered one of the "oddest" lights on the Atlantic Coast and it was designed intentionally as a replica of Choragic Monument of Lysicrates in Athens. It is a monument Lighthouse with a lot of architectural and sculptural details, so why not a Lighthouse work of Art! One of its kind so I had to have it on my list!
I am wearing red, camel, and white (again) but the order is a bit different this time, more camel less white same pop of red. I think this pallet color is what I envisioned for Maine.
Stay tuned for one more post from here!
