Few things compare to the stillness of the shore before the world wakes up.  It’s quiet, the light is soft, and everything feels a little more at ease, including me.

I took a slow walk along one of my favorite boulder beaches in Massachusetts, and it was the reset I didn’t know I needed. I wore this striped maxi dress, which moved perfectly with the wind, was light, flowy, and fuss-free. Barefoot in the sand, just letting the morning unfold.

The waves were calm, the rocks still cool from the night before, and for a little while, it felt like I had the whole coast to myself.

And while everything in these photos captures serenity, let’s be real, the kids were running around wild behind the scenes. They were excited to start the day, too, just in a very different way than I was. I couldn’t catch them in any shots this time... maybe next post!

If you ever get the chance to visit the coast early, do it. It’s such a peaceful little pocket of the day, one I’ll always come back to.
