Another summer look, another perfect day in my beloved Rockport.

This time, I chose a mini crochet dress, easy, breezy, and just right for a summer day by the water. I paired it with my favorite straw accessories, my see-through straw bag and matching flats, and added a pop of color with a bright red headscarf.

But my favorite accessory of the day has a story.

The necklace I’m wearing is a DIY piece I made more than 15 years ago. I love bringing these old handmade treasures back into the mix. Somehow, they feel even more special after all these years, and this one was the perfect finishing touch for a day in Rockport.

And then there’s the backdrop.

If there’s one motif that says Rockport to me, it’s boats, boats, and more boats. Everywhere you look, there’s another beautiful glimpse of the harbor, another sailboat, another reminder that this is a true New England fishing town.

And, of course, there’s Motif No. 1, the bright red historic fishing shack on Bradley Wharf. Instantly recognizable and endlessly photographed, it has become one of Rockport's most iconic symbols and is often described as “the most painted building in America.” With its classic New England maritime character, it’s easy to understand why artists and photographers have been drawn to it for generations.

A crochet dress, straw flats, a red scarf, a necklace from another chapter of my life, and the people who make the memories worth keeping.

Summer in Rockport, exactly as I love it.
