A few weeks ago, I found myself drawn back to one of my favorite places, the azalea garden, in full bloom and more breathtaking than ever. I’ve been visiting it year after year, and yet, somehow, its beauty never gets old. The explosion of pinks and whites against the fresh green leaves still takes me by surprise. It’s impossible not to pause and take it all in.
That day was warm, quiet, and just breezy enough, the kind of afternoon that practically leads you to slow down and just be.
I wore one of my easy green dresses, the one that moves with the wind and somehow feels like part of the landscape itself (yes, it has a zebra print — subtle, but playful). There’s something about that shade of green that blends so effortlessly with the garden around me. I always say it feels like it was made for days like this.
To keep things simple and relaxed, I paired it with a few favorite accessories: a classic wicker bag and raffia kitten pumps that are both stylish and surprisingly comfortable. I’ve always loved raffia for warm-weather days because it has that effortless, slightly rustic charm that just works for strolls and sun-drenched paths.
We didn’t have any real plan, just wandered aimlessly along the winding paths, letting the blooms and the breeze guide us. I stopped here and there to admire a flower up close, to listen to the quiet, to sit for a few moments in the shade, and simply enjoy where I was.
Those unhurried, seemingly ordinary moments turn out to be exactly what we needed.
Until next time, azaleas. You never disappoint.
