The holiday season feels extra special when it’s spent at home with family. This year, our favorite moments have been the simplest ones: slow mornings, preparing our traditional food together, and making memories side by side.

Another favorite tradition, besides cutting our Christmas tree at the farm, is slipping into matching pajamas as soon as December arrives. This year’s theme was red and white. The kids love it, and somehow it instantly makes the house feel cozier. The elves also arrive, magically stepping out of their boxes, and yes, I have plenty of scenarios planned to keep them busy all month long. With holiday music playing in the background, we gather around the Christmas tree, reading Christmassy books, looking back at photos from past Christmases, and of course, watching all the movies that make the season feel magical.

Making a gingerbread house is always a highlight—sticky fingers, crooked candy decorations, and plenty of taste-testing along the way. It’s never perfect, but that’s part of the fun. The kids’ creativity really shines, and they can’t wait to taste it, even though it’s not really about the flavor. For me, it’s the creative process that matters most.

These joyful moments remind me that the holiday season isn’t about doing more, it’s about being together. Matching pajamas, a twinkling tree, and a gingerbread house made with love are more than enough to make this time of year truly magical.
