I don't think I'll ever get tired of summer in Newport. Every time I visit, I find something new to fall in love with, and this time it was the hydrangeas. They were everywhere: full, lush, and the most beautiful shade of blue.

As it turned out, my blue dress blended right in with the blooms. I draped a striped cardigan over my shoulders for the cool ocean breeze, carried my favorite wicker bag, and wore a white striped pillbox hat. It felt like the perfect outfit for wandering through the gardens at Marble House.

The kids were just as captivated as I was, especially Caroline. She’s a flower lover just like me, so seeing her stop and admire every bloom made my day. We stopped every few minutes to admire another cluster of hydrangeas or peek around another corner of the gardens. There was no schedule to keep, nowhere we needed to be, just time to wander, explore, enjoy the afternoon together, and, of course, capture these moments to look back on one day.

One thing I always bring home from places like this is inspiration. I love gardening, and I found myself studying the different varieties of hydrangeas, imagining where they would fit in my own garden. My garden is always evolving, and after seeing these beautiful blooms, I think I may have found my next addition.

Between the gardens, the historic mansion, and the endless blue hydrangeas,  Marble House is one of those places that feels just as beautiful every time you visit.

I left with a camera full of photos, a grateful heart, and a new garden idea to dream about.
